The End of Numbers? Apparently, In-N-Out Thinks So.
Seriously? You can’t make this stuff up. Apparently, the hallowed halls of In-N-Out Burger, that bastion of predictable deliciousness and aggressively beige decor, have decided to banish the number 67 from their order ticket system. Why? Because teenagers – those paragons of sophisticated thought – are using “67” in… gasp… text trends online. As if In-N-Out hasn’t already surrendered completely to whatever fleeting internet nonsense captures the attention span of Gen Z, now theyre rewriting their internal operational procedures based on TikTok?
It’s truly breathtaking. We’ve reached peak absurdity, folks. Forget about the rising cost of ingredients, forget about labor shortages, forget about maintaining a consistent product – no, this is the crisis that demands immediate action! The potential for a rogue order ticket to inadvertently participate in some fleeting online meme? Unacceptable!
Im picturing boardroom meetings now: The youths are using 67! We must protect our brand! Someone needs to remind these people that teenagers will find something else. They always do. It’ll be “82” next week, then “95,” and In-N-Out will be scrambling again, probably renaming the Double-Double because its two patties are perceived as culturally insensitive.
Honestly, I just want a burger without this level of performative anxiety. Is that too much to ask?
