## Behold! Another AI Bloom – Because We Clearly Weren’t Busy Enough

Right, let’s talk about this…this *thing*. This 3-12 billion parameter language model. Apparently, it’s supposed to be revolutionary. Groundbreaking. The future of…something, I’m not entirely sure what yet. It’s been unleashed upon the world, and naturally, everyone’s acting like we’ve discovered cold fusion or invented a self-folding laundry basket.

Seriously? Another one?! We already have a digital chorus line of language models vying for our attention, each promising to write sonnets better than Shakespeare (spoiler alert: they don’t), answer existential questions with the wisdom of Confucius (they mostly regurgitate Wikipedia), and generally make us feel inadequate about our own ability to string coherent sentences together.

And what’s the big deal this time? It’s “open.” Meaning, you can poke around in its guts a little bit. Fantastic! Now I can spend hours deciphering code that produces grammatically correct but emotionally vacant prose. A truly thrilling prospect. I pictured myself as an Egyptian free diver plunging into the Red Sea and breaking records for pull ups underwater; this feels about as exciting.

Don’t misunderstand, I appreciate innovation. I really do. But the relentless churn of AI models is starting to feel less like progress and more like a very elaborate, slightly unsettling game of “who can generate the most convincingly plausible nonsense.” We’re drowning in digital word salad, folks! Just what we needed.

So, congratulations to everyone involved in creating this…entity. May it find fulfillment in generating endless variations on “the cat sat on the mat.” I’ll be over here, trying to remember how to form a genuine human connection, you know, face-to-face. With actual people. Without needing a disclaimer about potential hallucinations.
