**BREAKING: TEENAGE TRAIN TYRANT TAKES NYC SUBWAY ON WILD RIDE**
In a jaw-dropping display of teenage recklessness, police have apprehended one of the daredevils who commandeered an empty New York City subway train and took it on a thrilling, albeit short-lived, joyride through the city’s underground tunnels.
According to eyewitnesses, the train, which was reportedly traveling at a blistering 50 miles per hour, careened wildly through the deserted tunnels, leaving a trail of bewildered MTA employees and startled rats in its wake.
“It was like something out of a James Bond movie, but with more graffiti and broken dreams,” said one awestruck onlooker. “I mean, who needs a rollercoaster when you’ve got a subway train to play with?”
The train, which was somehow managed to be started by the teens despite the complex security systems in place, reportedly traveled a distance of several miles before the driver, whose identity has not been released, suddenly slammed on the brakes and made a hasty exit at the 14th Street station.
“I was just trying to get to work on time, and suddenly there’s this train flying by with a bunch of teenagers waving and yelling,” said commuter Karen Jenkins. “I mean, I’ve seen some crazy things on the subway before, but this was on a whole other level.”
Police were quick to respond to the situation, and after a brief but intense search, they managed to apprehend one of the suspects, who was found hiding in a nearby coffee shop, sipping on a latte and attempting to blend in with the morning crowd.
“We’re just lucky no one was hurt,” said NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea. “Although, I have to admit, it’s not every day you get to say you caught a teenage train thief. That’s going to look great on my resume.”
The suspect, who has been identified as 17-year-old Jimmy Johnson, is currently facing charges of reckless endangerment, train tampering, and making a really bad life choice.
As for the other teens involved, they remain at large, but police are urging them to turn themselves in before they become the stars of their own action movie.
In related news, the MTA has announced plans to increase security measures on the subway, including the installation of “Train- proof” doors and a new fleet of panic buttons.
When reached for comment, a spokesperson for the MTA simply shook their head and muttered, “You know, it’s just not worth it.”
