**BREAKING: RACOON DOG ON THE LOOSE IN WALES, RESIDENTS ADVISED TO STOCK UP ON SNACKS AND LOCK UP THEIR TRASH CANS**

Cardiff, Wales – In a bizarre incident that has left officials baffled and residents on high alert, a rogue raccoon dog has apparently escaped from a local petting zoo and is now roaming the countryside, wreaking havoc and causing chaos wherever it goes.

The marauding mammal, described as ” fluffy but fierce” and “a cross between a cute cartoon character and a ninja,” is said to be on the loose in the picturesque Welsh valleys, leaving a trail of destruction and mayhem in its wake.

“It’s like something out of a bad sci-fi movie,” said a spokesperson for the Welsh government. “We’re urging residents to be on the lookout for this masked bandit, but not to approach it. We don’t want anyone to end up like the poor soul who tried to take a selfie with it and ended up with a face full of mud and a mangled camera.”

The raccoon dog, which has been identified as “Ricky” by local animal control, is reportedly around 3 feet long, with a bushy tail and a mischievous glint in its eye.

“It’s like it’s been watching too many heist movies,” said a local resident. “I saw it trying to break into my neighbor’s garden gnome collection. I mean, who does that?”

Authorities are warning residents to secure their trash cans, pet food, and any other edible items that might attract Ricky’s attention.

“We’re doing everything we can to catch this cunning creature,” said a spokesperson for the local police department. “But in the meantime, we’re advising residents to be vigilant and to report any sightings to us immediately. And for goodness’ sake, don’t try to feed it. We don’t want to make things worse.”

As the search for Ricky continues, residents are being advised to stay indoors and to keep a safe distance from any suspicious-looking animals that may be lurking in the area.

**SAFETY TIPS**

* Keep all trash cans securely locked
* Don’t leave pet food or bird seed outside
* Keep a safe distance from any animals that look like they’re up to no good
* Do not attempt to take selfies with Ricky. Trust us on this one.
