**BREAKING: PONYGATE ROCKS QUINCY, MASSACHUSETTS**
In a bizarre incident that has left residents of Quincy, Massachusetts, scratching their heads and giggling uncontrollably, EIGHT FEARLESS PONIES BROKE FREE FROM THEIR STABLE AND TOOK THE CITY BY STORM.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as “absolute pandemonium” as the marauding ponies, estimated to be around 2-3 feet tall and sporting majestic manes, galloped wildly through the streets, leaving a trail of bewildered onlookers and trampled trash cans in their wake.
“I was just sipping my morning coffee when suddenly, a miniature horse in a sparkly bridle pranced past my kitchen window, neighing loudly,” said local resident Agnes O’Connor. “I thought I was hallucinating from too much caffeine, but then I saw SEVEN MORE PONIES CHASING AFTER IT!”
The ponies, whose origins are still unclear, appeared to be on a mission to explore every nook and cranny of Quincy. They were spotted galloping down Centre Street, dodging pedestrians and cars, and even photobombing a group of tourists taking a selfie in front of the Quincy City Hall.
“It was like they were trying to steal the show,” said Quincy Mayor, Thomas P. Murray. “I’ve never seen anything like it. I mean, who needs a parade when you have eight rogue ponies on the loose?”
As authorities scrambled to corral the wayward ponies, residents took to social media to share their encounters with the marauding mini-horses. Twitter user @QuincyQuirky posted a photo of a pony perched atop a parked car, looking like the king of the castle.
The Quincy Police Department eventually managed to round up the ponies and return them to their stable, but not before they had caused quite the stir.
“We’re just glad no one was hurt, except for maybe the dignity of a few parked cars,” said Officer James O’Rourke, who helped coordinate the pony-catching effort. “And we learned an important lesson: never underestimate the power of eight tiny horses with a taste for adventure.”
As for the ponies, they’re reportedly being treated to a special “pony spa day” to help them relax after their wild escapade.
**UPDATE:** The ponies have started a petition to make “Pony Day” a citywide holiday. Stay tuned for further developments on this developing story!
