LAGOS, NIGERIA – In a bizarre display of endurance and questionable dance moves, 32-year-old Nigerian man, Kingsley Okoro, has shattered the world record for longest twerking marathon, lasting a mind-boggling 3 hours and 30 minutes!

Eyewitnesses described the scene as “hilarious” and “cringeworthy” as Okoro, clad in a bright orange jumpsuit, shook his booty to a medley of Afrobeats and dancehall tunes.

“I was in shock,” said onlooker, Nneoma Nwosu. “I’ve never seen anyone twerk for that long. I thought he was going to get a hernia or something!”

Okoro, a self-proclaimed “Twerking King,” had been training for months to break the previous record of 2 hours and 45 minutes, set by a Swedish man in 2019.

“I wanted to show the world that Nigerians can twerk like nobody’s business,” Okoro said in a post-record interview, his voice hoarse from shouting over the music. “I’m not sure if I’ve ruined my back for life, but it was worth it.”

Witnesses reported that Okoro’s twerking technique involved a unique blend of hip swiveling, booty popping, and what can only be described as “flailing.”

“It was like he was trying to scare away a swarm of bees with his dance moves,” said another onlooker, who wished to remain anonymous.

Despite the initial shock and awe, onlookers couldn’t help but be entertained by Okoro’s antics. Some even joined in, creating an impromptu dance party that spilled onto the streets.

The Guinness World Records officials, who were present to verify the attempt, confirmed that Okoro had indeed broken the record.

“We’re thrilled to have Okoro as part of our record-breaking community,” said a spokesperson. “We’re just not sure if we’ll be providing him with a lifetime supply of ibuprofen.”

Okoro’s achievement has sparked a mix of admiration and concern among Nigerians, with some calling for him to be awarded a national honor, while others are urging him to seek medical attention.

As for Okoro, he’s already planning his next record-breaking attempt. “I’m thinking of trying to hold my breath for 24 hours while reciting Shakespearean sonnets,” he said with a grin. “Nigeria, get ready!”
