**BREAKING: West Virginia Football Team Grounded from Grooving on TikTok**
Morgantown, WV – In a shocking move, West Virginia University’s head football coach, Rich Rodriguez, has issued a stern warning to his players: **NO MORE TIKTOK DANCING ALLOWED**.
According to sources close to the team, Rodriguez has been monitoring his players’ social media activity and was appalled by the sheer number of TikTok videos featuring the Mountaineers busting a move on the internet.
“I mean, I’ve seen some crazy things in my day, but our guys were getting a little too comfortable with their dance skills,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “Next thing you know, they’re going to be moonwalking into the end zone instead of running the ball.”
The ban comes after a particularly cringeworthy video surfaced of quarterback Garrett Greene doing the floss in the locker room after a win. The video, which has since been deleted, reportedly earned Greene a stern talking-to from Rodriguez and a stern warning: shape up, or ship out.
“We’re a football team, not a dance crew,” Rodriguez said. “I didn’t recruit them to be TikTok stars, I recruited them to win games.”
The ban has left many of the players feeling, well, a little “ghosted.” “I mean, what’s the point of being a college athlete if you can’t show off your moves on social media?” said star wide receiver, Charlie Kembry. “I’m pretty sure my followers are going to revolt without my daily dose of dance content.”
But Rodriguez remains firm, insisting that his players need to focus on the fundamentals of football, not fancy footwork. “We need to get back to basics: tackling, blocking, and not tripping over our own feet,” he said.
The Mountaineers’ social media team, however, is reportedly “devastated” by the ban. “This is a dark day for WVU athletics,” said social media coordinator, Emily Wilson. “How are we supposed to compete with other schools’ dance teams if our players aren’t allowed to bust a move?”
In related news, the university’s dance team has offered to fill the void left by the football team’s TikTok absence. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
