**MOOSE DELIVERS CALF OUTSIDE ALASKA HOSPITAL**

In a bizarre and unexpected turn of events, a moose wandered onto the grounds of a hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, and gave birth to a healthy calf.

According to eyewitnesses, the moose, estimated to be around 5 years old, was spotted roaming the grassy area outside Alaska Native Medical Center on Saturday morning. Witnesses described the scene as “surreal” as the moose suddenly went into labor and delivered a calf.

“I was just walking out of the hospital when I saw the moose standing there, eating some grass,” said hospital visitor, Sarah Johnson. “The next thing I knew, she was lying down and pushing, and then this little calf came out. It was amazing!”

Hospital staff quickly responded to the scene, and a team of wildlife experts from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game were called to assist.

“The moose seemed to be doing fine, and the calf was up and standing within minutes of being born,” said Dr. Jane Smith, a wildlife biologist with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. “We monitored the situation closely to ensure the health and safety of both the mother and the calf.”

The calf, estimated to weigh around 30 pounds, appeared to be healthy and active, and was seen nursing from its mother shortly after birth.

While moose are common in Alaska, it is not unusual for them to wander into urban areas, especially during mating season. However, giving birth in a hospital parking lot is certainly an unusual occurrence.

“It’s not every day we see a moose deliver a calf outside our hospital,” said hospital spokesperson, Karen Johnson. “We’re just glad everything went smoothly, and both the mother and calf are doing well.”

The moose and calf were safely relocated to a nearby wildlife area, where they will be monitored by wildlife experts.

The unexpected arrival has brought a smile to the faces of hospital staff and visitors, and serves as a reminder of the unique wildlife experiences that can be found in Alaska.
