**COWS AIRLIFTED TO SAFETY AS ROCKSLIDE THREATENS SWISS VILLAGE**

In a daring rescue operation, a team of emergency responders airlifted dozens of cows to safety yesterday as a massive rockslide threatened to engulf a small village in the Swiss Alps.

The picturesque village of Brienz, located in the canton of Bern, was under imminent danger as a massive boulder, estimated to be the size of a small house, had broken loose from the mountain above and was hurtling towards the village.

With the situation growing increasingly dire, authorities decided to evacuate not only the human residents but also the village’s bovine population. A team of helicopters and rescue personnel was dispatched to the scene to airlift the cows to safety.

“It was a challenging operation, but we managed to rescue all the cows in time,” said Captain Urs Eicher of the Swiss Air Force, which was involved in the rescue effort. “The situation was critical, and we had to act quickly to prevent a disaster.”

The cows, which belonged to several local farmers, were carefully loaded onto helicopters and transported to a safe location several miles away. The rescue operation involved a total of 18 cows, which were airlifted to a nearby valley.

The villagers, who had been preparing for the worst, were relieved to see their livestock safely airlifted to safety. “We are extremely grateful to the rescue teams for their swift action,” said Maria Fischer, a local resident. “We were worried sick about our cows, but now they are safe, and we can breathe a sigh of relief.”

The rockslide, which was triggered by heavy rainfall and unstable soil conditions, posed a significant threat to the village and its surroundings. Authorities had warned that the boulder could potentially block a nearby river, causing widespread flooding.

The Swiss authorities have been monitoring the situation closely, and geologists have been working to assess the stability of the mountain. The village remains on high alert, but the successful evacuation of the cows has provided a glimmer of hope that the situation can be brought under control.

As the rescue efforts continue, the people of Brienz remain vigilant, grateful for the bravery and selflessness of the emergency responders who risked their lives to save their beloved animals.
