Idaho man, David Rush, has once again set a new world record that leaves us all scratching our heads and wondering, “What on earth possesses someone to do that?” This time he attempted something truly remarkable, creating a new world record category on a balance board.

For those few of you who don’t already know, a balance board is essentially a piece of wood or plastic on which someone can stand and try not to fall off. That’s it. Seems simple enough, right? Well, not for David Rush. He decided he needed to take it to the next level and create a new world record category for standing on a balance board for an extended period of time with a frisbee balanced on his head.

Yes, you read that right. A frisbee. On his head.

We imagine the brainstorming session where David came up with this idea must have gone something like this: “Hmm, I’ve already set world records for balancing things like milk bottles on my forehead and catching marshmallows in my mouth. What other useless and bizarre skill can I add to my resume?”

So, on a chilly Sunday morning, David stepped onto his balance board, placed a frisbee on his head, and began his new world record attempt. The minutes ticked by as he swayed back and forth, probably wondering at times why he was putting himself through this. Was it for the thrill of the competition? The fame that comes with setting a world record? Or perhaps just the sheer boredom of living in Idaho?

Regardless of his motivations, David was determined to succeed. As the clock approached the three-minute mark, he began to shake uncontrollably. His legs wobbled like Jell-O, and his face contorted into a grimace of pain and determination. But he never let that frisbee fall.

Finally, after what must have felt like an eternity, David reached the magic number: three minutes and eight seconds. The crowd cheered, David fist-pumped, and the rest of us were left wondering why we had just wasted three minutes and eight seconds of our lives watching a man balance a frisbee on his head.

It’s hard not to be impressed by David’s commitment to setting world records, even if they are utterly ridiculous. But we can’t help but wonder if there’s a better use of his time and talents. Perhaps he could set a record for the world’s longest yoga pose or fastest time to fold laundry. Or maybe he could use his impressive balancing skills to become a circus performer or professional tightrope walker.

Regardless of what he chooses to do next, David Rush has definitely left his mark on the world of balance board world records. And we can only hope that someday, someone will come along and break his record, because let’s face it, we could all use a little more entertainment in our lives.
