According to reports, the raccoon had been stranded on the pole for two days. Meanwhile, citizens were bustling around trying to create a buzz for the raccoon’s rescue. The situation became an excellent excuse for people to whip out their phones and take pictures from all possible angles. The raccoon became a celebrity overnight.
The silly raccoon seemed to have incurred a “death wish” as it darted up the pole without realizing there was no way down. As time passed, the life of this Trigger Happy creature became increasingly risky. Every type of creature is replaceable, but not the raccoon that brought out the “hero” in these power company workers.
The power company, Hydro One, got the call for help on Day Two of the raccoon’s precarious time on the pole. The power company workers quickly dispatched a rescue team to save the day, using a bucket truck to reach the top of the pole. The raccoon was carefully scooped from its lofty perch, and its journey to safety began.
Social media users erupted with happiness as the brave little raccoon was rescued. People rushed to the scene to witness the event and cheer on the workers, thanking them for saving the creature. Some lucky ones even got the chance to take pictures with the heroes of the day.
Of course, we have to give credit where it is due. While the raccoon was undoubtedly the star of the show, it was the real heroes who stole the spotlight and saved the day, risking their lives to save the life of just a little raccoon. We hope that this heroic act will change the mindset of the workers. They finally realized animals are a crucial part of our lives and have the same rights to live as humans.
