In what can only be described as a shocking and terrifying incident, a bear was caught on camera attempting to enter a family’s home through the doggie door.
The traumatized family, who have chosen to remain anonymous, were just about to go to bed when they heard a strange scratching noise coming from the door. At first, they thought it was just their pet dog trying to make a sneaky escape, but upon closer inspection, they realized that it was a 300-pound black bear.
The sight of a furry intruder trying to wiggle its way into their home was enough to scare the bejesus out of the family. “I thought we were being attacked by a pack of wolves,” said one member of the household who was visibly shaken by the incident. “I mean, who knew that bears could fit through doggie doors?”
As luck would have it, the bear was not able to get through the small opening and eventually gave up and wandered off into the night. But the family was left wondering, what if the bear had managed to get inside the house?
“I shudder to think what would have happened if we had been asleep when the bear tried to break-in,” said another member of the family. “We wouldn’t have stood a chance against that kind of viciousness.”
Local wildlife officials have warned residents to be on high alert as this is just the latest in a string of bear sightings in the area. They recommend that homeowners should take extra precautions, such as locking all doors and windows, and making sure that their pets are safely secured inside.
However, some members of the community believe that the real issue is not the bears themselves, but rather the irresponsible behavior of some of the residents. “People need to stop leaving their trash cans outside overnight,” said one concerned citizen. “It’s like a buffet for these bears, and then they get too comfortable around our houses.”
Despite the bear’s failed attempt to enter the home, the family remains on edge and somewhat traumatized by the event. “I don’t think I’ll ever feel safe in my own house again,” said one household member. “You just never know when a bear might try to sneak in.”
