“Florida’s Wildlife Gets a New Addition: A Swimming Kangaroo”
In yet another bizarre turn of events in Florida, residents of an apartment complex were surprised to find a new guest in their pool area – a kangaroo. Yes, you read that right, a kangaroo. Clearly, the state’s locals are stepping up their game from alligators and pythons to exotic marsupials.
The sheriff’s deputies, who were probably hoping for a peaceful day off, had to round up their squad and head over to the apartment complex to capture the rogue kangaroo. We can only imagine their surprise when they got the call. You’d think they would be used to this sort of thing in Florida by now, but alas, they were unprepared for a hopping kangaroo.
According to eyewitnesses, the kangaroo had been lounging by the pool for quite some time before the police arrived. It seemed comfortable in its surroundings, enjoying the sun and the water. Maybe it was trying to escape the scorching heat or planning its own vacation in the Sunshine State? Who knows what goes on in a kangaroo’s mind?
After putting up a bit of a chase with the officers, the kangaroo was finally cornered and apprehended. It was a dramatic scene, haters of all things cute would certainly have a field day with this one. We can only imagine the amount of damage such a creature could have done to the apartment complex, what with its long legs and sharp teeth. Alas, the brave and heroic deeds of the Sheriff’s deputies saved the day.
Later, investigators discovered that the kangaroo had escaped from a nearby animal sanctuary and went Priscilla Queen of the Dessert-style on a bender of a pool party. Again, who can blame it? It’s been a tough year and we all need to blow off some steam now and then. Perhaps instead of arresting the animal, the deputies should have joined it in enjoying the Florida sun. Maybe next time they’ll know better.
In the end, the kangaroo was safely returned to the animal sanctuary, where it can go back to dreaming of less eventful lives. Florida, however, still remains an enigma. With its plethora of exotic animals on the loose, we can only ask ourselves: what will they think of next? A parade of elephants on Interstate 4? A giraffe at Disney World? Only time will tell in the wacky world of Florida wildlife.
