Wallabies are known to be cute, cuddly and friendly creatures that mostly inhabit the land Down Under. But in a bizarre incident, a wallaby apparently decided to take a break from its supposed comfort zone and escaped to the United States. To the surprise of many, the runaway marsupial showed up on a Tennessee university campus.
According to eyewitnesses, the wallaby made its grand entrance to the campus by crashing through a window, leaving shattered glass all over the floor. In an act of complete disregard for the law of gravity, the mysterious animal then proceeded to bounce around the halls of the university, causing pandemonium amongst the students.
At first, nobody could figure out what the heck was going on. Students and faculty members were left feeling as if they had just stepped onto the set of a cheaply made Australian wildlife documentary. However, one student who wished to remain anonymous, shed some light on the situation.
“I was just sitting in class, trying to take notes, when all of a sudden a wallaby barges in like they own the place. I knew it was a wallaby, ’cause I’m a big fan of Steve Irwin and those guys are all over his videos. It was pretty cool, I must admit. Never thought I’d get to see one in person.”
The wallaby was eventually caught and taken into custody by the local authorities. But the story doesn’t end there. The owner of the wallaby, who’d apparently imported the animal from Australia to be a part of a circus, has come forward with an unbelievable explanation.
According to the owner, the wallaby was initially supposed to be delivered to the circus in Florida. However, it seems that the animal had other plans and decided to plot its great escape before reaching its final destination. The owner added that he was completely unaware of the wallaby’s whereabouts until he saw its picture on the internet.
“I swear, we didn’t know where the bloomin’ ‘roo had gone,” the owner exclaimed. “We thought it was hoppin’ around somewhere in the good ole’ US of A, but we had no clue where.”
The owner further explained that the wallaby had been trained to perform stunts, and it had probably performed its most impressive one to date by breaking out of the cage it was kept in and boarding a random plane to Tennessee.
Meanwhile, the university authorities have assured the students that measures will be taken to ensure that a wallaby doesn’t break in again anytime soon. The incident left many of the students feeling sorry for the poor wallaby, who probably just wanted to experience a different kind of adventure.
In conclusion, it seems that even animals are not immune to wanderlust and the desire to embark on daring escapades. It also looks like we may have some new competition that’s just as eager to pursue a higher education as we are. However, we should still be cautious and not let these intruders bounce around our classrooms without permission.
