In what can only be described as an inspiring ode to nostalgia, a Florida man has set out to collect one million copies of the classic movie ‘Titanic’ on VHS. Yes, you read that right – VHS.

If you’re scratching your head and wondering why anyone would want a physical copy of a movie that was released back when ‘pagers’ were still a thing, you’re not alone. But fear not, because this trailblazing Floridian is here to enlighten us all.

“I just have a special connection to the VHS version,” he explained, with a straight face. “The picture quality was so grainy and the sound was so scratchy – it just felt more authentic, you know?”

Sure, we’re all nodding in agreement. Because who wouldn’t want to sacrifice picture and sound quality for the sake of authenticity? And if that wasn’t reason enough to start hoarding obsolete media, there’s more.

“I’m also really interested in building a fort out of the tapes,” he announced proudly. “I mean, why not? If I’m going to have a million copies, I might as well put them to good use.”

We can all relate to that, can’t we? Who hasn’t dreamt of constructing a fortress out of their extensive movie collection? And what better choice for a cinematic stronghold than a flick about a ship that sinks to the bottom of the ocean?

In all seriousness, the quest for one million VHS tapes is not without its challenges. Despite the undeniable popularity of ‘Titanic’, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to track down copies that are still in good condition.

“I’ve had to resort to some pretty shady websites to get my hands on some of these tapes,” he admits, with a nervous chuckle. “But it’s worth it, for the love of the movie.”

Well, if you’re going to go through all that trouble, we might as well help spread the word. So a word to the wise – if you happen to be cleaning out your grandparents’ basement and stumble upon an old VHS copy of ‘Titanic’, consider selling it to this Floridian crusader. Who knows, it could be the millionth tape he needs to complete his collection.

The question on all our minds, of course, is what he plans on doing with these one million copies once he has them. Will he donate them to film museums around the world, or perhaps start a new business selling them as vintage relics?

“I haven’t decided yet,” he admits, with a sly grin. “But one thing’s for sure – I’m going to need a bigger basement.”

So there you have it, folks. The quirkiest pop culture trend of the year – the hunt for one million ‘Titanic’ VHS tapes. Will you join the movement? Only time (and a whole lot of thrift store digging) will tell.
