A Florida family was in for a shock when they discovered a snake hiding in their sock drawer. In what can only be described as a routine experience (because let’s face it, this is Florida), the family stumbled upon the uninvited guest while looking for a pair of socks.
The family, who wished to remain anonymous (because who wants to be known as the “snake-in-the-sock-drawer” family?), called in animal control to deal with the situation. The brave animal control officer was able to safely remove the slithery intruder, which turned out to be a harmless rat snake.

One neighbor we spoke to said that they’re not surprised by the snake-in-the-sock-drawer incident since snakes, gators, and other wildlife frequent the state. It’s just as normal as going to the beach or catching a ballgame.
