Unexpecting Beach-goers greeted by the arrival of a 4 foot- long Alligator in Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan!
Onlookers were flabbergasted as an unusual beach companion made its grand debut! An alligator! Yes, you read it right, a gator near the natural habitat of Lake Michigan! Apparently, this is not the first time alligators have crossed miles of rivers and lakes to reach unusual, foreign locations, and to be honest, what could be more fun than playing in the waves of Lake Michigan.
The question on everyone’s mind is how did this alligator manage to jump out of its natural habitat and venture into waters that are not only chilly but also a world apart from its warm homeland? The answer is unknown, maybe Lake Michigan is the new Venice where Humidity and sunshine are a rarity.
The must-see spectacle of this unconventional guest spread like wildfire, making it a “can’t-miss” event of the summer. However, considering the possibility of it being a baby alligator, we would rather that it stays less exotic and more healthy. It’s tough going through ship locks and through various riverways, which is evidenced by the several sightings across Michigan.
Well, it’s also safe to say that alligators can swim, and with their sturdy and resilient bodies built to handle the scorching Florida sun, they’re probably able to endure the relatively cold waters of Lake Michigan. We could learn a thing or two from them.
Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources was notified of the alligator’s presence in the state waters, after which, the personnel tracked it down and captured it in one swift motion that would put Baywatch actors to shame. It was later taken to safety, and the authorities ensured that it would indeed be returned safely to its natural habitat.
One thing is for sure; the Wisconsinites are always up for a good story, and this one surely takes the cake. The alligator is now a “celebrity” in Lake Michigan, with cameras flashing as people dance to Beach Boys tunes and enjoy the riveting visual of the unwelcomed visitor.
We do not know if the alligator found what it was seeking in Lake Michigan’s waters, like a charity event or a family reunion, but one thing we do know is that the gator left everyone with a story to tell for the rest of their lives.
As humorous as this story may sound, it serves as a reminder that there are a lot of things to explore other than the norm but, hey, let’s leave the adventurous stories to the alligators. We can instead stick to our PB&J sandwiches, ice cream, and bike rides.
In the end, this Alligator illegitimately took a vacation to Lake Michigan; we’re happy he’s safe, but, let’s agree that this was amongst this year’s strange but exciting events.
