Well, it seems like dogs are now taking their cues from Hollywood. A furry four-legged criminal in Wisconsin decided to make his great escape from his family – obviously tired of the endless belly-rubs and the multiple “who’s a good boy?” praises. The dog who has chosen to remain anonymous (we get it, pup, you’re too cool for us) decided that he was going to make a run for it – and he did it in style.
This daring dog left his home in Marshfield, Wisconsin and led the police on a chase on a snow-covered highway. The daring dog reportedly left trails of paw prints in the snow as he made his speedy retreat. It’s unclear how he managed to evade the police for so long, but we can only imagine this pup had a top-notch plan in place to avoid getting caught. We wouldn’t be surprised if this canine was a former Navy SEAL or FBI agent in his past life.
The local police were in hot pursuit of the “fugitive” dog for a whopping three hours, before finally apprehending him and reuniting him with his worried family. Although we must say, the dog did give the police a good workout – maybe they should recruit more stray pups for their training regime.
But honestly, can we blame this adorable dog for wanting to escape the mundanity of everyday life? Humans do it all the time – they call it a “mid-life crisis”. So why can’t our beloved furry friends do the same? Maybe the dog just wanted to live a little and explore the big wide world. However, we must remind our readers that breaking the law is never the answer – we definitely do not support any illegal activities, even if they are committed by the cutest animals on the planet.
In all seriousness, we are just glad that this dog was reunited with his family, who were probably searching high and low for him during his Great Escape. We can only imagine the joy and relief they felt when they were finally reunited with their furry family member. Imagine the guilt this dog must be feeling after he realized he caused such a commotion – let’s just hope his family don’t give him a stern talking-to.
So, what is the moral of the story? Well, we think it’s that dogs can be pretty darn sneaky and clever when they want to be. And also, that maybe we could all learn a thing or two from our furry friends about taking risks and exploring new things – as long as it’s not illegal, of course.
