Las Vegas, NV – It’s official! Las Vegas is set to break the record for the most marriages on New Year’s Eve thanks to the date’s repeating sequence of 1-2-3, 1-2-3. Cue the wedding bells, folks.

Local wedding chapels are already booked out for the night, with some couples even opting for a drive-thru ceremony to save time. “Who needs a fancy venue when you can get married in the comfort of your own car?” said one bride-to-be, who preferred to remain anonymous. “Plus, we can still hit up the Strip afterwards and make it to our midnight buffet reservation.”

Wedding planners are also cashing in on the frenzy, offering special package deals that include Elvis impersonators, champagne (or sparkling grape juice for the non-drinkers), and a complimentary ride in a limousine. “It’s going to be a night to remember,” said one planner. “And by ‘remember’, I mean you might need to take some Advil in the morning.”

The Clark County Clerk’s office is expecting a record-breaking number of marriage licenses to be issued on New Year’s Eve. “We’ve already had thousands of applications come in,” said a spokesperson. “Honestly, it’s like the population is trying to race to the altar.”

This isn’t the first time Las Vegas has seen a surge in New Year’s Eve weddings. In fact, it’s become somewhat of a tradition to tie the knot on the final day of the year. But with the unique numbering pattern, this year’s festivities are expected to surpass all previous records.

“It’s like the universe is telling couples to get married on this day,” said a local numerologist. “Who are we to argue with the universe?”

Of course, not everyone is thrilled about the wedding mayhem. “I just wanted to have a nice dinner with my girlfriend, but all the restaurants are booked up,” said one disgruntled resident. “Thanks a lot, lovebirds.”

Despite the naysayers, it seems that love (or at least the desire to have a memorable anniversary date) is in the air. So, if you’re planning on getting hitched in Sin City on New Year’s Eve, don’t forget to bring some tissues (and maybe some sunglasses to hide the hangover). Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, and remembering anniversaries with ease.
