New Jersey police were in hot pursuit of a notorious fugitive over the weekend, and the object of their chase might surprise you – it was a pig.

Albert Einswine, as he has been affectionately named by locals, had apparently escaped from a nearby farm and had been causing chaos in the small town of Mullica Hill. Witnesses reported seeing the portly porker running through front yards, knocking over trash cans, and generally causing mayhem wherever he went.

Police were quick to respond to the situation, setting up roadblocks and using helicopters to track the elusive Einstein. Several offers of bacon sandwiches were also reportedly made, but the pig remained resolute in his mission to evade capture.

One officer, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke to us about the chase. “It was like nothing we’d ever seen before,” he said. “The pig was surprisingly quick on his feet and he was constantly changing direction. We had to think outside the box to keep up with him.”

The chase finally came to an end in a nearby field, where the pig was successfully corralled and returned to his rightful owners. But not before he had captured the hearts of everyone involved in his capture, and even some of the residents of Mullica Hill.

“He was a feisty little guy, but you couldn’t help but love him,” said one local resident. “It was like watching Babe in real life.”

The pig’s owners were reportedly relieved to have him back home safe and sound, and thanked the police for their efforts to apprehend him. They also revealed that Albert Einswine was something of a celebrity in the local community, and had previously been featured in several news stories and social media posts.

Despite his criminal actions, the pig’s fans remain fiercely loyal, and many have already taken to social media to express their support for the fugitive.

“Well done to Albert Einswine for giving the police the runaround,” wrote one Twitter user. “Way to stick it to the man, little piggy.”

While the incident may have caused some chaos in the town of Mullica Hill, it has also brought a little levity to an otherwise difficult time. And who knows, if the police ever need a little comic relief again, they know exactly who to call – Albert Einswine, the runaway pig with a heart of gold.
