In a stunning display of culinary prowess, a Chinese company has managed to cook up a world record serving of smelly noodles, much to the delight of the local population and the chagrin of anyone with a functioning sense of smell.

The record-breaking dish, which weighed in at an impressive 1,001 kilograms, was created by a team of highly skilled chefs from the Jilin Haoyue Group, who used a top-secret recipe passed down from generations of noodle makers. The noodles themselves were made from a mixture of soybeans, wheat flour, salt, and a generous helping of fermented soybean sauce, which is responsible for the dish’s signature pungent odor.

Despite the overwhelming stench emanating from the dish, the people of Jilin couldn’t get enough of it, with many lining up for hours to taste a bite of the record-breaking noodles. “It’s like nothing I’ve ever tasted before,” said local resident Zhang Wei, who had traveled from several hours away just to try the dish. “The smell might be a bit off-putting, but once you get past that, the taste is really something special.”

Not everyone was a fan of the dish, however. Animal rights activists have condemned the use of fermented soybean sauce in the noodles, calling it “inhumane” and “cruel” to the millions of soybeans used in the recipe. “These poor soybeans are being fermented against their will and used to create a vile stench that could make a skunk gag,” said animal rights spokesman, Li Wei. “We demand that the Jilin Haoyue Group cease production of this abhorrent dish and switch to a more ethical alternative.”

Despite the protests, however, the Jilin Haoyue Group remains committed to continuing production of its smelly noodles, citing overwhelming demand from the local population. “We understand that the smell might not be for everyone,” said company spokesman Sun Liang. “But for those who appreciate the unique flavor and texture of our noodles, we are happy to continue providing it in record-breaking quantities.”

Indeed, the Jilin Haoyue Group has already set its sights on breaking its own world record, with plans to create an even larger serving of noodles in the near future. Whether or not the world is ready for another onslaught of the pungent smell and questionable ethics remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain – the people of Jilin will be waiting with their nostrils flared and chopsticks at the ready.
