When you think of Florida, what comes to mind? Beautiful beaches, warm weather, and palm trees as far as the eye can see, right? Well, add one more thing to the list – iguanas in the toilet. Yes, you read that correctly. A Florida man recently found an iguana lounging in the bowl of his toilet, and he just had to document the whole thing.
The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, walked into his bathroom one morning, still groggy from sleep, only to be confronted with an unexpected sight. There, in the middle of his toilet bowl, was a bright green iguana, staring back at him with those beady little eyes. Now, most people would probably freak out in a situation like this, screaming and running for the hills (or at least the nearest can of bug spray). But not this guy. Oh no, he knew he had to share this experience with the world.
Grabbing his phone, the man began filming the iguana as it lazily lounged in his toilet, like it was the most natural thing in the world. He even tried to engage the reptile in conversation, asking it how its day was going and whether it needed a towel or something. Spoiler alert: the iguana did not respond, leading us to believe it was either extremely rude or just a statue made out of green silly putty.
Of course, the big question on everyone’s mind is: how did this iguana end up in the toilet in the first place? Did it crawl up through the pipes? Did it teleport there? Did it fall from the ceiling, Mission: Impossible-style? We may never know the answer, but the man did have a theory. “I think it really just wanted to take a dip in the pool, but got a little confused,” he said, trying to hold back a laugh. “Maybe it thought the toilet was some kind of big, fancy jacuzzi. Who knows?”
Despite the absurdity of the situation, the man remained surprisingly calm throughout the ordeal. He even offered the iguana a name, settling on “Toilet Larry” after a few minutes of deliberation. “He seemed like a Larry to me,” the man shrugged. “And he was in the toilet, so…you know.”
Eventually, the man had to face the music and try to remove the iguana from his porcelain throne. He donned a pair of gloves (smart move) and carefully lifted the reptile out of the bowl. Toilet Larry did not seem too happy about being evicted, but he also didn’t put up much of a fight. After a few seconds of awkward silence, the man brought the iguana outside and set it free in his backyard, wishing it well on its journey.
As for the man, he says he’s learned a valuable lesson from this experience. “Always check your toilet before you sit down, folks,” he advised with a grin. “You never know what you might find in there. Could be a snake, could be a rat, could be a lost city of Atlantis. Be prepared.”
So there you have it, folks. Another day in the life of a Floridian. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Maybe a kangaroo in the living room, or a lobster in the refrigerator. Anything is possible when you live in the Sunshine State.
