Man Discovers Long-Lost Irish Lover, All Thanks to a Bottle and a Beach
In what can only be described as a tale for the ages, a man from New Jersey has connected with an Irish woman who wrote a message in a bottle that washed up on a beach in Atlantic City. And they say romance is dead.
It all started when the man, who remains anonymous, was taking a leisurely stroll on the beach when he stumbled upon the message in a bottle. “I was just minding my own business, trying to get some good Instagram shots, when I saw this bottle floating in the water,” he said in an exclusive interview with us.
The message inside was a heartfelt note from an Irish woman who had written it in the summer of 2019. “The note was really touching, you know?” he continued. “She talked about how she had fallen in love with someone on her travels in the US, and how she hoped they would find the message, wherever they were.”
Well, it seems that fate was on our man’s side, because he was able to track down the writer of the note. It turns out the Irish woman had left her contact details in the message, just in case anyone found it.
“Heck, I thought it was worth a shot, so I reached out to her,” he said. “And can you believe it? She responded! We’ve been chatting non-stop ever since.”
The two have apparently hit it off, with the man saying he’s planning a trip to Ireland as soon as it’s safe to travel again. “I’ve never been to Europe before, but I figured if I’m going to meet my long-lost lover, I might as well go all in,” he said with a grin.
When asked if there was any romantic tension between the two, the man played it cool. “Hey, we’re just two people who have a connection, you know?” he said. “We’ll see where things go. But I gotta say, it’s a pretty good story to tell the grandkids, right?”
