South Carolina Woman’s Heroic Effort
Saves Small, Scaled Stowaway
A South Carolina woman went above and beyond the call of duty on Tuesday when she pulled over her car on the side of a busy highway after noticing an unexpected passenger on her floorboards – a snake.
According to eye-witnesses, the woman remained calm and collected, and immediately dialed emergency services, hoping for a hero to come to her rescue.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw her pull over,” said Shirley McGuire, who happened to be passing by at the time. “I just thought she had car trouble or something. But when I saw her pop the hood and then make a call, I knew it must have been something serious.”
As the minutes passed, the woman waited anxiously for help to arrive, all the while keeping a watchful eye on the slithery intruder that had made its way into her vehicle. Experts say that the snake was likely a non-venomous species, but that didn’t make the South Carolina driver any less alarmed.
“I mean, who wouldn’t be freaked out by something like that?” said her husband, who had been driving behind her vehicle. “That woman is a real hero for staying so calm and collected.”
When emergency services finally arrived on the scene, they were able to quickly extract the snake from the woman’s vehicle. Luckily, both the driver and the serpent emerged unscathed from the incident.
For those of us who are less brave, it’s important to remember that when it comes to wildlife encounters, it’s always better to err on the side of caution. If you spot an unexpected passenger in your car, remain calm, pull over to a safe location, and call for help.
Who knows, you might just be the next hero to save a small, scaled stowaway from a dangerous situation.
