London police have arrested a 25-year-old man for attempting the most daring heist of the century. The culprit in question allegedly decided to go to Buckingham Palace and climb over their wall. Now, we’re not sure what this man was trying to accomplish. Perhaps he hoped to have a cup of tea with the queen, or maybe he was just tired of the bland security measures in his everyday life. Either way, it’s safe to say that this man has some chutzpah.
Security staff at Buckingham Palace quickly chased the invader away from the premises, and he was swiftly arrested by police. However, we can only imagine the frenzy that would have taken place had things transpired differently. The idea of this wannabe thief rummaging through the Queen’s pristine stables is hilariously alarming.
According to reports, the man was caught just yards from where the horses bestowed with royalty live. Now, we’re not sure why the man decided to target the stable. But if he thought he’d find some royal steeds worth a fortune, he’s clearly watched too much Netflix during lockdown.
One can only envision the conversation he’d have with the horses if he managed to get in. “Oh, hello there my royal pets. I ‘don’t mean to alarm you, but I have come to…well, I’m not too sure what I’m here for actually.” Regardless of his intentions, it’s safe to say that he had quite the adventure and the queen’s horses are probably very relieved that he failed.
However, we must give this man a few points for originality. While most thieves opt for swanky apartments or luxury stores, he decided to go for the incredibly discreet royal stables. We can’t help but imagine our hero getting caught in the act surrounded by horses, with a few of them genuinely befuddled by the whole event.
This is not the first time that people have attempted to break into the royal residence. Over the years, the palace has seen everything from random strangers attempting to gain access to the thieving kind. In March 2019, a man was arrested after allegedly climbing over a security fence at the palace. It’s a risky venture, but we cannot overlook the creativity behind it.
While the idea of breaking into Buckingham Palace may sound thrilling to some, we advise against it. As we have established, the Palace is very secure and not at all amused by amateur hour antics. We strongly suggest sticking to Netflix and nachos instead.
In any case, the 25-year-old man can now join the ranks of those who have tried and failed to break into the palace. We’re not sure what he expected to accomplish by going up against the royal security team. But we are sure that his tenacity is both hilarious and admirable.
