Pelican on the Loose: The Great Escape
It seems that the residents of a British seaside town got more than they bargained for when visiting their local beach recently. A rogue pelican had gone AWOL from its somewhat restrictive confines at a nearby zoo, and decided to take its chances with the great unknown. For nearly two weeks, zookeepers were left scratching their heads, while the local beachgoers made some new feathered friends.

Zookeepers and officials are at their wits end, and even the locals are starting to take sides. Still, there is an air of excitement and possibility in the air. It’s not every day that a pelican breaks out of a zoo and sets itself free on a beach.
