Target Shoppers Insist Boa Constrictor was Part of the Bargain Deal
Iowa Target shoppers often pride themselves on finding a good deal, but none were quite prepared for the unprecedented deal they stumbled upon during their shopping spree. Customers and employees alike were shocked to find a Colombian red-tailed boa constrictor lounging in a shopping cart that was left outside in the corral. And while many would be terrified at the sight of the scaly creature, Target fans are seeing it as a sign of their unmatched bargain hunting skills.
One shopper who posted a picture of the reptile in the cart on social media expressed excitement at the unexpected find. “I mean, who else can say they got a free pet with their Target purchase? #score,” wrote the shopper. Another shopper commented on the post, “I bet that constrictor would make a great accessory for my living room! #Interiordesigngoals.”
Target employees were equally thrilled about the surprise visitor. “I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to rub its scaly skin for good luck,” said checkout clerk, Sarah Thompson. “I mean, how often do you get to touch a giant snake like that?”
Some shoppers, however, were not as enthusiastic about the added surprise. “I was reaching for the cart when I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye,” said one disturbed shopper. “I almost dropped my Starbucks Venti latte on the floor. Target should really enforce a strict ‘no wild animal’ policy in their outdoor corrals.”
Animal control was called to the scene and was able to safely remove the boa constrictor from the shopping cart. But Target shoppers are still feeling the high of their exciting shopping adventure. Many are demanding Target to incorporate snakes and other exotic animals into their weekly deals and promotions.
“I feel like Target is really stepping up their game,” said one shopper. “Who needs a free tote bag when you can get a free snake?”
While Target has not announced any plans to continue the snake deal, shoppers are already camping out in the parking lot in hopes of catching a glimpse of the next wild animal to make an appearance.
The Colombian red-tailed boa constrictor is currently under the care of animal control and is said to be in good health. Target continues to work closely with local authorities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all shoppers and employees.
