Lone Star State Shatters S’more-Making Record

Everything’s bigger in Texas, and apparently that includes s’mores. The state that gave the world oil tycoons, cowboys, and political gridlock can now add “world-record breaking s’more makers” to its list of accomplishments.

The event, held in downtown Houston, saw 891 people gather to make s’mores at the same time, shattering the previous Guinness World Record of 423 people. The participants, who ranged from toddlers to seniors, spent nearly an hour assembling the campfire classic, which consists of a roasted marshmallow sandwiched between graham crackers and a piece of milk chocolate.

“It’s just fantastic to see so many people come together for something as simple and delicious as s’mores,” said event organizer Chad Davidson. “Not only did we set a new world record, but we also brought a little bit of sweetness and joy to Houston.”

The event was not without its challenges, however. Organizers had to coordinate hundreds of volunteers to help distribute the ingredients and keep the crowd safe. They also had to contend with a few overzealous marshmallow roasters, who caused some minor burns and singed hair.

But overall, the event was a smashing success, and participants left with full bellies and a sense of pride in their state. “I never thought I could be part of something like this,” said Rachel Hernandez, a local resident who participated in the event with her family. “It just goes to show you that no challenge is too big for Texas.”

The previous world record for the largest s’more-making gathering was set in 2015 by the Girl Scouts of America, who brought together 423 people in one place.

The Texas-based company responsible for organizing the event, S’more Galore, has plans to expand its business to other states and countries. “We see a lot of potential in the s’mores market,” said CEO Lila Rodriguez. “People love the combination of marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate. It’s a winning formula.”

So, there you have it, folks. Texas has added another feather to its cap, and s’mores have never tasted sweeter. Who knows what other records the Lone Star State will break in the future? Maybe they’ll build the world’s largest barbecue pit or fry the world’s biggest chicken fried steak. The sky’s the limit for Texas.
